Dr Sal Khalid is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist with over 20 years' experience diagnosing and treating the full range of upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions, liver and pancreatic disease, and hepatobiliary disorders. Dr Khalid is an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Endoscopist, delivering the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme across the region, with performance metrics that rank among the best locally. He has served as a National Clinical Assessor for the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on Endoscopy, assessing quality and safety standards at endoscopy units nationally. He is also Educator and Development Lead for the North West Endoscopy Training Academy, and has held Clinical Lead for Endoscopy roles across multiple NHS Trusts over a ten-year period, including six years at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he led the development of a new Endoscopy Unit.
